I always tell people that the Center of Hope is like coming in out of the rain - you find yourself in a place that you feel safe and accepted. After all, pregnancy, especially outside of marriage, can sometimes feel just like being caught in the rain.
We usually don't plan to be caught in the rain, and when we do, we're really not too excited about it. For me, the Center of Hope was that warm dry place to come in from the rain.
It was here that I could "dry off for a bit," regroup, accept, and learn about the changes that my life and body were about to experience. I received not only educational advice but also spiritual and emotional support from all of the staff. They provided me with many tools to help along the way and also how to face these unexpected storms with a smile.
The staff at the Center of Hope reminded me of what I really knew all along: Getting caught in the rain doesn't have to be the end of the world. Now more than ever, I know that there are sunny days ahead, if we just have hope.
